Borlin Florist & Orchids is currently located at 9942 Johnnycake Ridge Road in Concord, Ohio just down the street from our former greenhouse location. As a second-generation family business, we have been located in Lake County for over sixty years. The business was started by August and Victoria Borlin on Sanford St. in Painesville and moved to Mentor in 1963. Louis and Carol Borlin now run the business.
At the height of orchid popularity Borlin Orchids was one of the largest commercial Cattleya orchid growers east of the Mississippi. Until 2006 we operated over 30,000 S.F.of greenhouses. A beautiful variety of orchids are now sold through our retail flower shop. The wholesale division of our business still provides the flower supply houses and retail flower shops in the greater Cleveland area and into Erie, PA with cut orchid blooms and plants.
Working with various noted floral designers our plants and flowers have graced many special weddings and functions including The National Art Gallery in Washington, D.C. Our beautiful Orchid blooms have been used in floral arrangements from President Regan and for Mrs. George Voinovich, the wife of the former Ohio governor.
In past years our greenhouses were featured on Neil Zurcher’s One Tank Trips and P.M. Magazine with Michael Stanley.
We have had the pleasure of having visitors from around the world come through our door.
We hope to see you too!
